A new edition of Arturo Tallini’s tribute to Mario Castelnuovo Tedesco (1895-1968), Italian composer who took American citizeship after fleeing anti-Semitic persecution in his birth-country. An accurate and inspired interpretation of chamber works which, even if rarely performed and unfairly forgotten , express a delicate and refined personalità and an original and elegant approach to music. Castelnuovo Tedesco’ voice , far from the European “avant-garde” and the heart-searching of the Viennese school, can represent, today, the “Italian way to modernism”.
