EVENTS

Musikstrasse promotes various concerts held in several locations in Italy and supports projects of musical information. It also dedicates to the recovery of the musical heritage that originated in concentration camps during World War II.

Musikstrasse activity includes:

PRELUDIUM Classical music Festival dedicated to children aged between 10 and 18 years, selected by the teachers and directors of the Italian Conservatoriums. Preludium allows young music students to meet, learn and share together for the first time the thrill of the stage. The aim of the event is to create an opportunity for aggregation, which is a prerequisite to children's artistic growth.

KZ MUSIK Encyclopaedia in 24 CDs, containing all the works composed between 1933 and 1945 in concentration camps all around the world, by authors who were different in social condition, political views and religion. The project was created by Maestro Francesco Lotoro, main italian expert for research on concentration camp music literature.

MUSIC CONCENTRATIONARIA Documentary on music composed in concentration camps between 1933 and 1945. It contains interviews to Holocaust survivors, relatives of musicians who deceased during these tragic events and experts in the field of concentration camp music. It was presented in Rome in 2007 during an International Conference on concentration camp music literature.

PREMIO FRANCO ALFANO(SANREMO CLASSICO) International Piano Competition, with a multidisciplinary jury consisting of musicians and industry professionals.

GRANDI SOLISTI IN CONCERTO Season of classical music concerts made at Teatro Parioli in Rome from 1994 to 1998.

RASSEGNA MUSIKSTRASSE: RAVELLO 1997-1998 Chamber music concerts preceded by a listening guide with presentation and explanation of the program and meetings with the performers.

CONCERTO PER L'EUROPA Concert held in the beautiful scenery of Terme di Caracalla in Rome, featuring the Rome Opera House Orchestra conducted by Maestro Daniel Oren, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, which established the European Community.

CONCERT JOSÉ CARRERAS Benefit concert for the Foundation José Carreras, supporting the fight against leukemia. It was produced at the Teatro Parioli in Rome in 1996.
